Serge worked as a language instructor for 30 years. His research interests include brain and memory, aging, and Alzheimer's and dementia. His blended passion for culture, diversity and community enabled him to pursue many interests. Currently working as a consultant, he also serves on boards and committees such as the Central Alberta Refugee Effort, the Central Alberta Pride Society, and Red Deer's Welcoming and Inclusive Community Network. A former competitive swimmer, he also coaches two local Masters swim clubs and young athletes for triathlon.
