Ruth had no idea that Alzheimer's disease would play such a role in her life. Since her husband John's diagnosis, she has felt compelled to learn as much about dementia as she can. Ruth has completed courses on dementia risks and understanding dementia. She has recently become part of a group that provides input about elder care in long-term care facilities. Currently, she volunteers twice weekly at the gift shop in the facility where John resides. Ruth enjoys spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren, family and close friends.
