Gail Elton-Smith graduated from the University of Alberta with a bachelor of science in physical therapy. She worked on the stroke and brain injury unit at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital for 20 years, subsequently taking the role of a stroke service coordinator part time with the Edmonton Zone's stroke program in 2008. She is currently also working as a physical therapist with the stroke early supported discharge team in Camrose.
