Dr. Jan Banasch did not go into med school with the idea of doing psychiatry, but fell in love with the discipline as a medical student in Nottingham, England. She has never regretted her decision. She loves coming to work: every day is different and unpredictable to some extent. The human stories she hears are often heartbreaking but can also be of admirable resilience. She is impressed by Covenant Health’s commitment to provide compassionate care to the mentally ill population. None of our lives have been untouched by mental illness, so experiencing this advocacy for our patients is really inspiring.
