Dr. Stuart Cleary

Dr. Cleary is an associate professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders in the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Alberta.

Dr. Stuart Cleary is an associate professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders in the Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Alberta. He is a registered speech-language pathologist and is board certified as a specialist in swallowing disorders. Stuart's primary clinical and research interests are assessment and treatment of swallowing disorders in older adults and co-ordination of breathing and swallowing in individuals with neurodegenerative diseases. He enjoys working in this field because he has the privilege of helping people to be able to eat or drink safely, to meet not only their nutritional needs, but their social and quality of life needs as well.
